Akiko Yosano and France: An Afternoon of Literature and Loire Wine

In "From Paris," a memoir detailing the experiences of Akiko and Kan Yosano during their trip to France in 1912, there are plenty of descriptions that reflect the unique culture and gastronomy of France.
This seminar will explore the Loire Valley through the novel "From Paris," and the food that Akiko and others are said to have tasted there.White wine (Vouvray)While sampling the wine, you will be introduced to the works of contemporary poets that the two met in Paris, as well as Balzac's works set in Vouvray, allowing you to relive Akiko's trip to Europe.
