The date will be decided around the 10th of the month before the experience, so please contact us if necessary. Also, guests with allergies can change to dried sweets.

Chairs will be provided, so please let us know when you apply. If you are unable to enter the tea room, you can still experience the experience in your wheelchair.

At the standing tea ceremony, you can sit on a chair and watch the teacher prepare the tea right in front of you, while enjoying Sakai matcha and Japanese sweets. For the tea ceremony experience, you can sip matcha while watching the tea ceremony in a tatami tea room, and then try making tea yourself. (Reservations are required one month in advance for groups of 10 or more.)

This is an experience designed to help you become familiar with and enjoy the culture of drinking matcha, so even those with no experience are welcome to join.

[About field trips] How many people can participate in 1 trip? How long will it take?

Accepted Answer

A maximum of 40 people can participate in one class. The basic course lasts 60 minutes (45 minutes trial + 15 minutes interval), but depending on the number of classes and length of stay, we can also shorten the course to 45 minutes (30 minutes trial + 15 minutes interval), so please feel free to contact us.

Admission to the museum itself is free. The tourist information room on the first floor offers a rest area and a museum shop, and also provides tourist information about the city. However, admission to the Sen no Rikyu Tea Ceremony Hall, Yosano Akiko Memorial Museum, and tea ceremony experience facilities (standing tea ceremony, tea room hall, Saitai-an, and Muichi-an) requires a fee.

The estimated time to view the exhibits is approximately 30 to 60 minutes. Each standing tea ceremony is approximately 20 minutes. Each tea ceremony experience is 60 minutes.

Individual customers do not need to make a reservation. Please apply at the reception desk on the day. Groups of 10 or more people and field trips must make a reservation in advance.

In the free admission zone, there is Sakai Enan (goods shop), which sells Sakai City's famous products (sweets, miscellaneous goods, tea ceremony utensils, etc.).

In addition to cash, credit cards and various QR codes are accepted. Travel agencies can also pay with Zentai, JTB, Nippon Travel Agency, and Kinki Nippon Tourist coupons.
